I'll Have A Large Fry and Chocolate Shake with That!

Here is the scenario:

You have recently decided to avoid all processed foods, but this particular morning, you ate the mother of all processed foods, FAST FOOD from McDonalds!  What to do????

Most of us would eat that burger, plus the LARGE fries, and the chocolate shake.  Then when deciding what to eat for your remaining meals throughout the day, you might think, "Well, I already had fast food, I might as well finish out the day with other processed foods I've been craving; I'll be disciplined again tomorrow."  In actuality, that decision just tore down your discipline.  Sometimes we think as if once we make a bad decision, we then have to finish out the day or week living out the same bad decision.  You don't have to.  It's never too late to turn back and do the right thing for you!  I'm not just talking about food either.

Any and everything in your life, any decision you're not proud of and wish you could erase, it is never too late to rectify the situation.  You can't remove your already digested McDonalds burger (that's called bulimia) but you can make good decisions for the remainder of your meals.  Don't ruin a good thing with just one bad decision.  It's never too late.

It's not too late to get closure from that hurt from your past, to put down the cheeseburger, get started on that business idea or to tell the truth. Do not be lazy about living a life that's up to your standard!

It is never too late; it is always right on time!

Top 7 Reasons for Single Ladies to Be Excited about Valentines Day!

Drumroll please....

7. It's just another day so you can just be happy to be alive and make the most of it!
6.  You're not with your ex!
5. Your daydream about your right guy will once again not be tainted by a real guy
4.  You won't miss the Tuesday night t.v. line up
3.  You can still enjoy a classic girls night out!
2.  You can hit up all the grocery stores and stock up on all the discounted candy tomorrow!
1.  No gross box of chocolates to pretend you like!

People who are in relationships are not in them because they're better than you; they're just experiencing something different than you are currently experiencing.  Don't elevate their situation to being better than your own.  Don't wait until you're in a relationship to look back and miss certain things about being single; enjoy those things now.  Bask in the joy of being independent in job and life decisions, spending more time with the people you care about, and the focus of working on you, rather than a relationship.

Though healthy relationships are great, those in them usually miss certain aspects of their single life because they failed to see the good in it!  Remember you're right where you're supposed to be.  Keep living your best life now and if you do want a relationship, trust that the best guy for you will come into your life.

Remember that God, the most important and most loving being, loves you and so do many other people; don't take their love lightly.  Take today to remember the love that you have and focus on sharing that love every opportunity you have!  Happy Valentine's Day to you; it's not just for couples!

Get Past Your Insecurities Today

When you get dressed, do you ever think "I hope this outfit will hide love handles?"  When you put on makeup, are you hoping the make up will cover up your freckles?  When you get dressed and despite all your efforts you don't feel you hid or covered enough imperfections, do you try to stay in a corner so that you will be barely noticed?  We all have those self conscious days now and then but some of you wake up and live with these thoughts everyday.  Stop it!  Instead of trying to cover up things you don't like, know that right now you're powerful enough to make any changes you need.

Maybe you're trying to hide 50 lbs you want gone.  Get a personal trainer and surprise yourself with how much fun you can have getting healthy!  Don't like your facial blemishes?  Go to the dermatologist and get the to deeper reason why you're breaking out and change the way you eat and get the right cream to heal.  The solution to insecurities should never be to hide, it should be to attack all insecurities head on!  Trust me, it feels AMAZING!  Start today and you'll find that you'll spend less time trying to hide and more time living a fun and adventurous life of love and triumph!  God made you to shine.

"People do not light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house.  Let your light shine"  Matthew 5: 14-16

"Not This Time Donut! I'm Sticking With My Apple!"

Newsflash!!!

I'VE MADE PROGRESS!  You may reread the story of my October 15th decision in the October 15th post entitled, "Goodbye Apples, Hello Donuts!" to fully understand my victory!

I ended the blog in these encouraging words:

"Forgive yourself (mind, BODY, soul) and learn something every time you make a mistake.  Before you know it, old mistakes will be a distant memory.  Pretty soon for me, it'll be Hello Apple, Goodbye donuts!

Well "pretty soon" is here!  The exact same scenario happened today BUT I kept my apple AND withstood a whole day of leftover donuts boldly staring me down!  I'm so excited!  We all have redeeming stories like this one!  Take time to notice your progress and then, CELEBRATE!!!!

Share your progress in the comment section or on the facebook page!

Rooting for you,
Priscilla

I am One Stomach Flu Away from My Goal Weight

This quotation is from the movie The Devil Wears Prada

How many of you, if you'd be honest, have ever thought..

"being sick is a good way to lose weight"
or
"I wish I'd get sick, so I could lose weight without trying"

I definitely laughed out loud when I heard the quotation in the movie, but when I spent time thinking about it, I asked myself what can be done to take our focus off from being skinny at any cost to being healthy at any cost. If that isn't our underlined focus, we're flirting with danger. It's dangerous when numbers on a scale are guiding your health decisions.

Here are 3 ways to jump start your healthy lifestyle:

1.  Redefine your perception of health:  Read health magazines, articles, books, etc.
2.  Ask your doctor (or WebMD for those w/o insurance :) about your options for changing your lifestyle
3.  Begin to notice and compliment healthy people

These three steps are sure to get you off on the right foot!  Want to learn how to help yourself stay on track after you start?  Call 678.978.1885 and set up a telephone appointment and you'll be amazed at how weekly life coaching with me will make you more successful in all your goals!

The Key to a Great 2011

My best guess is that for most of you, myself included, this year you want to do better in something that relates to your self-image.  Maybe you're wanting to exercise more, eat healthier/less, drink more water, take more pride in your appearance,  or just desire to solely focus on thoughts and people that build up and encourage you.

Whatever you've thought about changing in 2011, just remember that every morning is an opportunity to start anew.  If you didn't do what you hoped to do today, don't give up and wait until the beginning of next year to try again, start with a renewed vigor and freshness the next day.  Your days are whatever you make it to be.  Make it count! Starting fresh every time is the key!

By the way, you're beautiful :-)

Be Who You've Always Wanted to Be

As the new year is approaching, I'm assuming most of us are inspired to set some resolutions and goals that are going to take our lives to the next level in 2011.  I am also assuming that for most of your resolutions, this is not the first time you've committed to them.  Why don't they happen for most of us?  Are we doomed to attempt the same resolutions year after year?  But of course not!  If you're going to start seeing the results you want, you need to know a few important things concerning your brain.

1.  Your brain has conscious and unconscious thoughts and actions.
2.  Conscious thoughts/actions are the things you intentionally and deliberately focus your mind to while unconscious thoughts/actions are things that you do or think when you don't have or don't make time to think it through.

3.  Most often, if your unconscious and conscious minds are battling, your unconscious will win because it requires the least effort.  The unconscious does not require will power, discipline, self-control, none of that.  You can just give up and the unconscious can take over, it's your mind's default.

4.  Resolutions are birthed in the conscious

So why share all this?  It's because I want all of you and myself to finally live lives we've been desiring for so long.  The way to live the life you want is to shift your focus from the conscious to the unconscious.  Let me give you some examples:

  • Want to lose weight?  Instead of starting by making decisions on what you will and will not eat, exercises, etc, first decided to expose your mind to helpful content.  Don't read magazines or watch shows that make you feel inadequate but instead fill your mind with articles regarding help, inspiring stories about unlikely people achieving their goals, and anything else that informs you of healthy living and lets you know you can do it!
  • Want to have a closer relationship with God?  Don't get focused on your do's and don'ts in the conscious level because the essence of who you are can really be seen when you're caught off guard. God's more concerned about what's going on in your mind and heart so start there.  Expose yourself to scripture specific to your desire.  Maybe you don't want to have anxiety anymore.  Read scripture about putting aside fear and taking on God's peace.  Watch and listen to online sermons on the topic.  Surround yourself with people who are free from anxiety.
In doing these things, we're changing and shaping how our mind reacts naturally.  Exposing our minds to filth or things that don't build us up is what's really holding us back.  So for 2011, start with the unconscious and I guarantee you that you'll see results!  It's already working for plenty of others, including me!

For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he."  Proverbs 23:7
